A birthday card

I made this card for our pt - it was a nice break from making Christmas cards!!!

Visible for all to See

After reading one of the latest posts by the Closet Artist - I have been linked to the outside world!!!! Not only do we share a very special friendship with each other and our families, we are now linked for all to see!
If you have stopped by, please say a quick hello! I am pretty new to this and would love to see who stops by!
Thanks for saying hello, brn2scrp!!!

So, I have been TAGGED.....

Well, here it goes...
1. I have lived in my current city almost as long as the one I orginally grew up in.
2. Fishing was one of my favourite things to do as a kid. I don't have any interest now.
3. I have been scrapbooking for as long as I remember.
4. My great grandfather missed the Titanic by 15 minutes. He caught the next boat!
5. I have 4 University degrees and 2 teaching specialists.
6. As a kid, I knew how to program in DOS on the old PET and Commodore 64 computers!! It isn't very useful now!
7. I played the French Horn for 3 years - but it was too big for me and I couldn't read music!!!

Quote for the Day

I am by no means, starting this as a daily feature - but I saw this quote and it struck me as funny and thought provoking...

"Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs build the ark; professionals built the Titanic" ~Unknown

Bad blogger!

I know I haven't kept up with my blog - work, being sick and *family* things keep getting in the way. I have a ton to post - but I thought I would post the two most exciting things right now...

I submitted this *new* take on Krista's Sunshine Designs website - there are only 2 of us competing for the $50 gift of her products!!! Today is the day to find out who will be the winner!

I also submitted this LO of Mark and Claire at the Maple Sugar Bush in the spring. I sent it to Canadian Scrapbooker yesterday for their call of Walking Away Pages - I got a message back from *Donna* - Thank you Wendy for the awesome submission. Donna

This is almost as exciting as being picked!!! Cool!

September already??

Back to work! UGH! It is really cutting into my scrappin' time. I can't leisurely get up in the morning and wander into my craft room and work away! I have managed to steal a few minutes this week and complete a few cards - here they are! Hopefully, I will get into more of a routine next week and have more time to scrap!!!

This card is for my September 1 on 1 card swap. Viriginia will receive it - once I get it in the mail!

I love this new stamp by Heather's Stamping Haven - SO CUTE. I created the card using a card sketch from Carla at SSZ!
Another one of Krista's Sunshine Designs stamps - the background (if you look closely has candles stamped on it,too)
This card is pretty simple - a daughter of one of the ladies on SSZ made this sketch. We are going to send it to the man who sold us our new car!
Thanks for looking!!

I have been busy getting few more cards done before I return to work!! UGH! This scrapping all day is going to stop...why do we have to work?

This is for another card kit from Ana - love Cosmobella!

This card is for Aimee - Happy Birthday!

This card is for Pam and Carla's challenge - using a blossom and a button!

A colleague at work - her father passed away...
This was created at Heather's Stamping Haven. Every year she does 1hr make and takes for Victim's of Violence and her anniversary sale.

They are Krista’s new stamps. We used the H2O daubers to create the background behind the bird. We then used the Polished Pigments for the bird and the stem of the white background.

My laptop is back -- so I have a bunch of cards and LO's to upload...here it goes!!!

This card is for Howie - Beerafella transformed to C2 - his Coke favourite!

This is for Tara, Glenn & Maya - for their new home...

This card was from Virginia - a winter card kit!

This card was my first seller! Tara bought it for her house cleaner!!

This is the first page of my Pennsylvania scrapbook!

These are 2pg LO kits I bought from the scrapbook store in Hershey - thanks to Renee for her help in cutting the Amish quilt out!!! I would still be cutting and sanding!!!

The card above is for another challenge on Carla's blog. I will post a link from SSZ to her blog later. It was a card sketch.
This challenge was for SSZ - use the same stamp 2 different ways. The right one was to be with yellows and oranges to make it more fun and the left was to be in darker colours to make it more sophisticated. How did I do?
I have entered this card in the Sunshine Designs contest. Krista *loves* red so she wants cards created with as much red as possible. I emailed it to her today! The prize is $50 in her products. The contest is open until the end of August and there is only one other participant so far!

When I get my laptop back from repairs, I will post some more cards that I have made!

Here is my entry for the summer SSZ contest!
One of our favourite activities in Niagara is wine tasting. The summer months allow us to see the grapes growing on the vines with the beautiful views overlooking Lake Ontario. Last summer, we joined the '30 club' - we are one of about 100 people who get wine delivered to the house every quarter. The winery is called Thirty Bench, on the 'bench' of the Niagara escarpment. There are wine notes included from the winemaker as well. While we were there, I had some fun with the camera and our tasting glasses.
Materials used: bazzill, Bo-Bunny's Napa Valley Vineyards, Napa Valley Stripe, chipboard letters - unknown
Good Morning! I have made two more cards..

This card is for Regina - a colleague of Chris - who is leaving.

This card is for SSZ weekly challenge - use one of your oldest stamps. I have had this forever.

We are off for a week of shopping and touring of Pennsylvania - can't wait to see what goodies I find down there!
