Tim Holtz Tag for February!

I am caught up - this being the last day of February!  I completed this beautiful tag last week.  I love Tim's new style of stamps...so many things to be done with them!!!!  The layering of the plaing card, the bright reds and the embossing folder really made this tag 'pop'.  At least I don't have to wait long for March!!! LOL!

I finally did it!!!

November's tag from Tim Holtz is complete - meaning I have completed them all for 2012.  I will be putting them in a frame to display them.  Love the fall colours and the wheat stamp!

Can't believe the class is over!!! So many amazing techniques!  This last card was fun to make - Jennifer McGuire created a similar card.  I don't have the stamp set used for the rest of the cards, but I had fun making this one.  These stamps are from Hero Arts.

I loved the brayed embossing from Lisa Spangler.  This embossing folder is so pretty!!! Here's what I did!  I used distress ink on top, added bling and a die cut and stamp from Simon Says Stamp!

Do it yourself Inkpad - this is a technique I learned from T!m Holtz a long time ago - it was so fun to create it, again.  I loved the ideas presented in this class!  I made a bunch of cards and here they are!

Here is my take on Julie Ebersole's card - I used the memory box die 2x, added some distress ink and coloured in the windows with yellow.  I offset the buildings to make it look like a skyline.  Julie used a similar stamp, instead.

 

Kristina did a card with big and small border stamps.  I loved how I used a large spellbinders heart and cut it out from a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 mask.  Using the negative, I put it on the card and added the stamp in the middle with versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I sprayed red Perfect Pearls and then stamped a border stamp on top.  When I heated it, I lost some of the perfect pearls colour...it looked better wet :(

Clean & Simple Card Making - Day 6

This card is inspired by Kristina Werner.  I used another Hero Arts background stamp, embossed it and then used a bit of old paper distress ink on top, resisting the embossing with a bit of water.  I didn't have the off white card, so the white on white didn't show up as nicely for me.

 

 

This next card was a lot of fun to make - using rows of masking to stamp the image in multiple colours.  Thanks to Jennifer Mcguire for this inspiration!!

One stamp - 3 different ways!  I love this new stamp by Hero Arts.  Kristina Werner stamped it sideways and used one of the lines for the sentiment - great idea!!! Coloured in the flowers with copics and I added some smooch to add some sparkle.

 

 

Julie Ebersole used the stamp with white ink and coloured just a small area.  I altered mine a little, but like the outcome!!

Julie Ebersole used some large stamps and with memento ink was able to use a waterbrush and draw in some of the ink to give the water colour look.  I didn't have the same stamp but decided to use these 2 stamps.  I was surprised at how much I could drag the ink into the image.  If I needed more ink, I just took it off the ink pad with the waterbrush.  Cool!

Gradient Simple Cards - this was cool!  I want to find some better border stamps to do this technique again, but I liked what I came up with.  Thanks to Jennifer McGuire for her tutorial!

Wow! Another day full of information and great techniques.  So many examples of cards to make.  I have made the first one, as shown by Julie Ebersole.  I have changed the sentiment and used distress markers to create the arrow through the heart.  Great masking technique!

My first cards from the Online Simple Card Class 2

I am not behind yet!!! LOL! I listened to the fabulous videos last night from day one of the Online Simple Card Class 2.  There are a bunch of cards I can make - but here is one that I created, in double.  Thanks for stopping by!

I used a Simon Says Stamp sentiment, Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls spray

over a Mr. Huey stencil, copic fine tip pen to make the dashes and

the green is stamped with another stamp from Simon Says Stamp.

Here are some more photos of work I did throughout the CJS online course. 

 

Using a foam stamp - that I had created from a Tim Holtz die,

I added Claudine Hellmuth's paint, dried it and then put a mask on top. 

Adding another colour over the mask with a sponge dabber, added the pattern on to the tree.

 

 

One of Nathalie's tutorials - put a stencil on the tag and add embossing ink and

then powder (heat emboss), spray the tag with a couple of different colours

 and wipe of the embossed areas that resist the ink.  Here I used the Dylusions mists.

 

 

This was cool!  Take a piece of sticky back canvas, peel back the sticky side and add a piece of patterned cardstock.  Using a water mister, saturate the paper and start to rub it off!!! The pattern remained on the canvas!!! cool!

 

 

I never thought of trying this simple technique - a couple of acrylic paint dabs on the paper and use a brayer to roll out the colours in various angles and voila!  Great for backgrounds!

 

 

This is a tag pouch I had from Graphic 45 - I did not have any WOW bonding powder or the metalic paper that was used...but I remembered I had the old 3M coloured transfer film (?) that was so popular a few years ago.  I tried the technique with regular embossing powder and the coloured paper - very pretty effect!  This is with one of Tim Holtz's new stamps, too!

 

This was cool - I cut out a heart out of a scrap piece of paper and used the negative for my mask.

I put a stencil over top of the open area and spritzed away with the Perfect Pearl's red. 

Then, using archival jet black ink - I added the other stamps.

Can't wait to finish this LO!

 

This is a little difficult to see, but instead of just using a manila tag on a LO - add a mask, I sprayed the Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls on it and now you have a journaling area

with a bit more dimension that would go with pretty much any LO!

- the left tag is done with a stencil and various distress inks with a ink applicator. 

The right had the same stencil, but I used the Dylusion sprays. 

There is quite the difference between the two

- I like both depending on what you want to do with it after!!
